Violence continues on second day in country |

KARACHI: Following the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, incidents of violence, firing, burning and surrounding still continues all over the country whereas in the province of Sindh, such incidents have so far claimed 30 lives and also caused huge monetary losses.
Army has been deployed in two towns of Karachi – Malir and Bin Qasim.
In Karachi, death toll has reached 20, including two policemen while more than 20 people are wounded.
According to home secretary Sindh Ghulam Muhammad Mehnati, four police officials are among the persons killed in Sindh.
He denied the news that curfew has been imposed in any of the areas.
During the incidents of violence in Karachi so far over 500 vehicles, 40 banks, 24 petrol pumps and other precious properties have been set on fire.
The whole city of Karachi is in the state of mourning and the people are in panic.
According to the Karachi police, fifty terrorists have been arrested.
People in Lahore also expressed deep grief and anger on the martyrdom of Benazir Bhutto.
More than eight vehicles were burnt and government and personal properties were damaged.
Panic also spread in Quetta and other cities of Balochistan. People held rallies in Khuzdar, Loralai, Sibbi, Dera Allahyar, Noshki, Panjgur, Gwader, Pishin and other areas of the province.
Strong reaction has been seen in the cities of Sindh. Over 20 banks, offices of DCO, Taluka Nazim and various police vehicles were set on fire in Qamber Shahdadkot and Larkana. |
