Sunday, July 13, 2008
By our correspondent

MANDI BAHAUDDIN: Federal Agriculture Minister Nazar Muhammad Gondal has said impeachment of President Pervez Musharraf has been decided, however, no timeframe can be given about the issue.

Talking to journalists at the residence of ex-president Malik Abdul Ghani here on Saturday, the minister said the people would have to wait for sometime and drastic changes will take place within 30 days. He said the coalition government had warned the US that any attack or action on the countryís frontiers would not be tolerated.

The PPP-PML-N alliance will be kept intact at all costs and the government is aware of the conspiracy against the coalition government, he added.

The minister said: ìOur government is about to launch the Benazir Card Scheme under which every cardholder family will get Rs 1,000 monthly, and this amount would gradually go up to Rs 5,000. Only deserving families will get the cards.î

Gondal said a shuttle-train would soon start plying from Malakwal to Lahore via Mandi Bahauddin, Jhelum and Gujrat. The development work on Rasool to Bhera road has started with Rs 1.75 billion and Phalia to Sial Mor road will be completed at the cost of Rs 2 billion, the minister said.

A passport office in Mandi Bahauddin had been approved and the PM would inaugurate development work of Chak Nizam Bridge on River Jhelum.

MPA Waseem Afzal, District PPP president Diwaan Shamim Akhtar and Secretary Muhammad Husain were also present.
